In 2007, the Kingston Police Community Volunteers recruited twelve new members to enhance the service offered to the citizens of Kingston. Current membership requires a potential volunteer to perform eight hours of patrol and attend one meeting monthly. The Kingston Police Community Volunteers currently have 45 active members at the end of 2007, with 15 to 17 more being added in early 2008.
